University of Cadi Ayyad
According to the social capital gateway (UCA) is the number 1 university in morocco, this university is recognized internationally for the quality of its scientific research. Its 1470 research professors, supported by more than 820 administrative and technical staff, are responsible for more than 500 high-quality publications. The quality of scientific production coupled with the close collaboration that links the UCA's 146 research structures with more than 580 research organizations around the world has allowed Cadi Ayyad University to be featured in the TOP 400 of the University 2014. This result was confirmed in several subsequent rankings. The university is also attached to 3 research centers: Center of Analysis and Charaterisation (CAC), Center of research on Saharian Studies (CNERS) and the National Centre of Studies and Research on Water and Energy (CNEREE).

Laboratory of Hydrobiology, Ecotoxicology and Sanitation (LHEA/URAC33)
Research within the Laboratory of Hydrobiology, Ecotoxicology and Sanitation at University of Cadi Ayyad explores a wide range of subjects related to various branches of Hydrobiology, with its 14 permanents researchers, 20 PhD students and one technician the laboratory can approach serval axes such as:
AXE 1: Hydrobiology and Biodiversity of Aquatic Ecosystems (lakes, rivers, water quality, zooplankton, macro invertebrates)
AXE 2: Environmental and Human Ecotoxicology (heavy metals)
AXE 3: Characterisation, impact, Treatment and reuse of wastewater and Wastes
LHEA participate also to the development and application of ecological and low cost techniques and methods for wastewater treatment in order to protect the environment and to preserve the natural resources.
the skills and expertise of our laboratory are amplified thanks to the cooperation with the National Centre of Studies and Research on Water and Energy(CNEREE), a cooperation which has allowed LHEA to broaden its fields of research and access to new technology and scientific equipment such as:
